The most inspiring engineer I know is ....... Because ........?:
Mary Wells! She was the Associate Dean of Outreach at Waterloo and took so much time and effort to promote the engineering profession to young women, in addition to her research.

Profile Questions

Why did you choose your program of study?:
I wanted to work with tangible, physical things, plus I'm a very visual learner! Mechanical is also very broad. There's so many different industries that mechanical engineers can work in and I like that freedom.

What has been your favourite course (in Engineering) and why?:
I really like learning about materials engineering and metallurgy. My favourite classes have been learning about how we can manipulate metals with heat treatment to change their physical and mechanical properties.

What has been the best part of your Engineering education to date?:
The best part of my education has definitely been getting involved with the Engineering Society, Engineering Outreach, and Women in Engineering. I've met so many amazing people and had so many great experiences!

What do you hope to do after you graduate?:
I hope to contribute meaningfully to society. Giving back and helping those in need is incredibly important to me. I would love to work for a non profit and continue to support engineering outreach to young girls in my spare time!
