Profile Questions

Why did you choose your program of study?:
I chose to do engineering because of my passion for innovation, science and math. I have grown up excelling in those subjects and have always found something extraordinarily rewarding about solving a page-long physics problem. This is something that made me stand out in high school and both my teachers and family encouraged me to use my passion to make the world a better place! I specifically chose mechatronics engineering because I love the concept that automation will be the way of the future, and I want to be involved in that transition.

What has been your favourite course (in Engineering) and why?:
As a second year student at UOIT, I have yet to discover some of the more specialized courses in my program. I have recently completed more basic principles that will allow for me to progress in my field such as physics, calculus, design, etc. I particularly enjoyed my engineering design course in first year, as it allowed a lot of creativity and design freedom; which I enjoy greatly.

What has been the best part of your Engineering education to date?:
The best part of my engineering education to date, has been my involvement with UOIT Engineering Outreach. As an outreach facilitator I had the opportunity to inspire youth to be engineers through workshops, camps and speeches. Thus, furthering my passion for engineering and allowing me to meet some really cool people along the way!
