Share one fun fact about yourself: I have recently taken up painting in my spare time. I find it relaxing to use a different side of my brain then what I am predominantly focused on at work.
The most inspiring engineer I know is ....... Because ........ ?: All the female professional engineers I’ve met throughout my career. There are many strong women who have paved the way for more and more presenting females to enter this career. It’s also the organizations like ONWiE who bring women together and lift each other up as we progress through our careers.

Why did you choose to study engineering?: I chose engineering to solve real-world problems. I wanted to feel like I was contributing to society and helping people and the environment in an impactful way.
How do you apply your engineering degree to your current career?: Currently I am working as a Water Resources EIT at J.F. Sabourin & Associates (JFSA), which is a water and environmental consulting company in Ottawa and Quebec.
What do you love most about your career?: I love the variety of work and the wonderful people I’ve met!
What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?: It’s a journey, not a destination. Building hard working habits will help you in the long run in your career. Take the time to understand basic concepts in school as you will continue to build off that knowledge base throughout your working life. If you are a lifelong learner and enjoy solving complex problems, you will thrive in this industry!
