My father (who was a broadcast technician) because he gave me my love of aviation.

Profile Questions

Why did you choose to study engineering?:
I wanted to be an airline pilot and the Canadian Armed Forces had not started recruiting women pilots so they suggested Aerospace Engineering. I'm glad that i stayed with engineering!

What are your best memories of your engineering education?:
The friendships. We had a small, close group. Many of us still keep in touch. Prof Terry Base - what a great instructor and mentor!

How do you apply your engineering degree to your current career?:
I am responsible for granting certification for new military aircraft types and design changes.

What do you love most about your career?:
The challenge, every day I learn something new. The people, we have a wonderful organization to work in.

What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?:
There are so many facets to engineering. Keep an open mind as there is something for everyone to enjoy in this field.
