Why did you choose to study engineering?:
I loved chemistry. I knew there had to be an exciting career for me related to science.

What are your best memories of your engineering education?:
Playing flag football, broomball and pub crawls. I also loved the summer jobs in my field (in industry)

How do you apply your engineering degree to your current career?:
Engineering teaches you to solve problems and make the world a safer, cleaner more environmentally friendly and generally better place to live. My career allows me to influence those decisions in my plant and workplace but also around my community and beyond.

What do you love most about your career?:
Everything around you, your TV, computer, chair, house, toilet etc... was built or designed by an engineer. Anything and everything is possible through engineering. I work with hundreds of people and touch so many topics from health and safety to environmental issues, community issues, political issues. No two days are the same - you can never be bored !

What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?:
Study hard but leave time for the fun social activities in engineering school.Make sure you get summer jobs in industry so you can experience that early in your career. This will help you decide what field you want to work in and whether you want to work in industry, consulting engineering, research and development. There are so many options out there so you need to explore.
