Share one fun fact about yourself: I love to bake.
The most inspiring engineer I know is ....... Because ........ ?: My sister, Mary Wells because she is a very accomplished professional, she is passionate about getting women involved in Engineering as well as being a fantastic mother. She really is one woman who has been able to have it all.
Why did you choose to study engineering?: Because I loved Math and Science but I wanted to study applied, not pure. As well, I knew it would give me all of the credits needed to then apply to Teacher's College for Math and Science.
What are your best memories of your engineering education?: Working with my peers and having amazing professors. In my five years at Waterloo I made some great friends as you spend many late nights working on projects and doing assignments. As well, competing in the Concrete Toboggan competition.
How do you apply your engineering degree to your current career?: I am able to bring "real life" examples to my Math classes.
What do you love most about your career?: That it never feels like I go to work. I would do this job for free if I could.
What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?: I would tell them that obtaining the degree requires a lot of work but that it is more then worth it as you have so many opportunities open to you when you are done. Not only in terms of a career but also in terms of working internationally.
