After graduating from my undergrad, I traveled to 20+ countries over 5 months.

The most inspiring engineer I know is ....... Because ........ ?:
While on internship at Sanofi Pasteur, I worked directly under a Professional Engineer named Melanee. She was always giving me more responsibility on projects, encouraging me to run with my own ideas, and ultimately contributed greatly to my professional and personal growth. I will always be grateful for Melanee, and I continue to admire her for the amazing person she is and for everything she has accomplished.

Profile Questions

Why did you choose to study engineering?:
Honestly, I chose to apply to an engineering program because my mom said that she thought it would be a good fit for me. When I looked into it more, I found Western's Green Process program and was instantly interested as it combined my love for math and the environment.

What are your best memories of your engineering education?:
Although the academic aspect of my time at Western was thoroughly enjoyable, the best times mostly occurred outside the classroom. From sliding in the mud pit during O-week, Wednesday nights with Rick McGhie and Spoke nachos, attending inspiring conferences, being an active member of various clubs/societies/sports teams, learning so much while on internship, getting my iron ring, etc., etc. - I met so many wonderful people who gave me too many fond memories to count!

What do you love most about your career?:
I love that it is only the beginning and the possibilities of what I can and will do are endless!

What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?:
Although an undergrad in engineering can be quite grueling at times, it is well worth it! The connections that you make and the skills that you learn will open up a world of possibilities. There are so many different engineering disciplines to pursue and a variety of amazing schools to attend - be sure to do your research and remember to always have fun.
