Share one fun fact about yourself: I’m passionate about NBS, have recently published a paper on this topic, and I am in the process of writing over 100 short articles each on one benefit of NBS.
The most inspiring engineer I know is ....... Because ........ ?: My daughter, Teresa Cutler; she loves her job as a civil engineer and the exciting projects she works on.
Why did you choose to study engineering?: I want to help improve the environment and the lives of people; I also wanted a challenging career where I can continually learn and grow.
How do you apply your engineering degree to your current career?: I am mostly doing research and writing articles on sustainable infrastructure like Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and green infrastructure.
What do you love most about your career?: I love the continuous learning process, both in practice and in research/learning; no two projects are ever the same.
What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?: There is a need for more women in the engineering field. Develop a strong network with other professionals, be confident, find a mentor, and keep learning.
