Share one fun fact about yourself: I love DIY projects, when I have the time, particularly craft projects I find on Pinterest. Some pieces of décor in my home are projects I made. I also enjoy cake decorating and have made many different themed cakes for my children’s birthday parties.

Profile Questions
Why did you choose to study engineering?: I was good at math and science in High School and was encouraged to pursue engineering in University. The main reason though was that I have always enjoyed problem solving and wanted to go into a field that would challenge me and allow me to come up with unique solutions.
How do you apply your engineering degree to your current career?: Besides the fundamental theories that play an important part of the various project topics I work on, my degree has taught me how to prioritize tasks, time manage and most importantly, strategically assess a problem and work towards a solution.
What do you love most about your career?: I really enjoy mentoring students and young engineers. I also have the opportunity to interact with researchers and professors in my dealings with academia but also various groups within my organization because of the range of project areas I am involved.
What advice would you give to someone hoping to pursue a career in engineering?: Engineering is a very challenging program. It is however, extremely rewarding once you finish and it is a degree that can be applied to many areas.
